Between the Ontario Heritage Foundation and The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority there is over 1600 hectares of protected, environmentally significant, forest.

This mixed deciduous and coniferous forest provides habitat for birds and wildlife. It also helps to clean the water entering Duffins Creek and improving the air quality by producing Oxygen. June 24th 2010 - 7pm to 8:30 pm- "Open House and Presentation"
The presentaion will begin at 7:10pm followed by an opportunity for discussion
Dagmar Ski Resort The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority owns 1548 hectare, environmentally significant, forest located on the Oak Ridges Moraine, The Ontario Heritage Foundation owns approximately 72 hectares of land, situated between Walker Woods and Glen Major Forest, which TRCA manages. This property links the two TRCA properties.This land is the home of the Duffins Creek Headwaters ..... MAKE IT A GREAT DAY

It is interesting to see that only recently have people recognized the need to protect the Oak Ridges Moraine. Fortunately, it was not too late.

Brian - one of our favourite spring time drives is down the 6th concession from Uxbridge Past Walker Woods and the Glen Major Forest ..... the scenery is fantastic and the Trillium's that carpet the forest floor are just amazing.
